L&J Pallets & Packaging Environmental Policy
At L&J Pallets and Packaging we are proud to have recycling at the heart of our core business model. We understand the importance of environmental protection and comply with all environmental legislation, regulations and appropriate codes of practice relating to the processes and activities of the company. We are committed to minimising the environmental impact of our operations and we help businesses dispose of their wood waste and reuse or safely dispose of.
Re-use
We buy and sell used pallets, which avoid the use of fresh timber for new replacements. Pallets are collected, hand sorted and any contamination (cardboard, plastic) removed and recycled. All good pallets are stocked for resale.
Repair
Damaged pallets are assessed to see if they can be repaired. We put to stock for resale any pallets that can be economically repaired.
Redistribute
Pallets that can’t be repaired are stripped for components. The components are used for repair of pallets.
Recycle
All wood that can’t be used for repair is recycled by our partners at Mill Farm
All contamination removed from pallets – plastic, cardboard is put into our general waste. All our general waste is collected for recycling by an outside waste management company.
General Business Operations
